A friend from Ontario was in town last week racing in BC Superweek, 10 days of adrenaline packed road riding complete with road races, criteriums and hill sprints. Impressive racing, great crowds and having someone to cheer for made for an awesome week revolving around bikes. One of the highlights of the week was the Gastown Crit, which takes place in the partially cobble-stoned streets of an area of Downtown Vancouver. With $15000 and $8000 on the line for 1st place in the men’s and women’s categories respectively, it is *the* race to win during Superweek. Seeing these men and women battle it out on the road was inspiring; I can only imagine the amount of time and dedication that goes into competing at this level in cycling. Thanks for the show all of you Superweek riders!
